Also, this really isn't a dietary question.

For the atmosphere of the ancient, tribal and wild:

Terra ambient, the gate (Tribal ambient music)

http://youtu.be/nx8ykxtO2v4 (Myth, from wanderlust cd)

The glitch mob - "Drink the sea", or "We can make the world stop" Not exactly ethnic, but the drums are very tribal in rythmn, and theres that journey quality there (plus its amasing music)

http://youtu.be/H-k_Eg7zXuc

Eddie Veddar - "Into the wild" (OST)

http://youtu.be/32Js2Ef5Ojg

If I feel like something much more energetic.

Something like Excision, Noisia (Split the atom) or perhaps some kinda rock.

http://youtu.be/NS03LNwivzU

http://youtu.be/0rgaiS4IeYk

Sadly theres not much in between that I can find, tribal wise. I checked out "drums of death" which is from a voodoo ritual, and TBH, it was too full on. Good for chopping heads off chickens, but not much else.

Be nice to find something with the kind of drumming on the rise of the planet of the apes soundtrack, big toms, with some nice moody or expanisive ambient electronic melodies, that would be awesome for working out, or walking in nature to.

I cant figure how coldplay would make you feel like a caveman though :P

Nile's "Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten" and Behemoth's "The Reign ov Shemsu-Hor" both make me want to grab my spear and eat the next thing I can catch.

The chanting in Ott's "Splitting An Atom" also feels very primitive for me.

The new Seven Lions EP is extremely atmospheric.. I can see myself chasing my dog through tall grass on a warm night with all the stars in the sky visible above my head.

Anything from the first Deep Forest CD - it works well around a campfire. Also Stimela by Hugh masakela is a very powerful song.

Allegaeon's Accelerated Evolution is amazing to me. Here's the lyrics, very much paleo.

Here's a snippet:

Chromosomes X and Y, divide and multiply Constant revolving D.N.A. Adapting to stimuli through vibrations of nuclei Until humanity dies away

So now break it down into the finite compounds

Who could foresee when we crawled from the ocean Those who could stand upon these shores? We evolve from primate to man From man to gods, from gods to dust

...

See this double helix rise like a phoenix From these ashes Of humanities flaws
