The Paleo symbol?

Answered on August 19, 2014
Created December 10, 2011 at 11:07 PM

In the comments for http://paleohacks.com/questions/82462/does-anyone-else-sneak-a-look-at-other-peoples-shopping someone suggested a secret handshake or a badge or button that would let other people know you were paleo. I thought it was a great idea, so I made one. What do you think? What could be improved about my first draft?

Check it out:

UPDATE: I'm going for very simple, recognizable icons, but I like many of the suggestions people have put into the answers. Here's my iconified arrowhead:

And here's my recomposite hunter-gatherer, with a bit more shape up top.

Ha ha. Cute...gathering. But then I'd have to choose which side of the bag to show! And that would be Harris' face of course. But I think a Paleo emblem would be more recognizable. So now I'll be looking for Ps and arrowheads at WF subconciously, right? Maybe we can just take permanent markers and mark existing green bags with Paleo emblems. That would be really green!

Anyway, I'm hoping that we're not so fractious between Paleo and Primal camps that we can't agree on one bit of semiotics that just identifies us as being from either.

I think Sisson's "grok" is a great symbol, but I guess it's more a representation of primal than paleo!

Just found the sign-language "P", which could even be used across a crowded room!

Though it is rude to point at strangers, and using this as a symbol may be confusing as I believe the "Society for Underwater Lobster-Elephants" are already using it.

Also, many paleo bloggers sell shirts. Fitbomb's shirts are my favorite (http://nomnompaleo.spreadshirt.com/) but you can find more if you just search "paleo shirts" in google.

I really would want to have paleo jewelry, and i think the symbols should be different for men and women. I would rather prefer a feminine image of a cavegirl on me.A quick googleing didn't bring up any beautiful figures/images, only porstar-like girls. :/
