Sunwarrior Protein a paleo approach????

Just want to start by saying I am new to the paleo way of life. I am looking at some type of protein powder to accomodate my busy days. I have done lots of research and at the time I am taking Vega Sport. I know Vega is not paleo due to the brown rice but its the best I have found so far. I am looking at this point at the Sunwarrior Warrior Blend. The Natural flavor seems like the ticket to the winning circle. I looked at the Vanilla and Chocolate flavors of the Warrior blend but those have Stevia. I would be correct to assume that the presence of Stevia bars me from using such flavors, right? Not sure how much of an impact it would be if I were to consume those flavors.

Thanks,

Sergio

I don't think there is anything paleo about Sun Warrior. There is nothing paleolithic about protein powder in general, but don't let that 'bar' you from it. Expecting vegetable sources to supply protein is also not paleo, and that is definitely a reason to question it.

You have to strip so much away to get to the protein in rice or peas that there's not much of value left. Whey protein, on the other hand, does bring along many benefits of its dairy source. It even eliminates much of the lactose that can cause people problems. I personally prefer 'One World Whey', which is 'raw' processed to preserve various delicate 4+ syllable goodies. Worth a google.

It's a vegetarian protein derived from rice. Rice is a grain.

To make it more "meat-like" you would need to add creatine, taurine and iron.

But protein is protein. Look at bioavailabilty and amino acid profile characteristics and compare with whey, eggs, beef, etc.
