Recover from grain binge?

Answered on August 19, 2014

Recently had to go to a mandatory luncheon where the only food was premade sandwiches and I was starving so I had two. Already starting to feel a little sick.

I've been eating pretty clean paleo, 90%+, but with grains completely cut out. The 10% non-Paleo comes from occasional sauces/rice and perhaps some non-fully organic meat.

Is there any kind of tip or trick with diet/activity in order to recover from a grain binge like this? Should I just fall back into the groove or do y'all like to do something special when this happens.

@Matt - I don't think I could have made it more obvious that I was exaggerating for comedic effect. :/

Ugh, hyperbole much? Wheat/gluten is not poison.

Second on the activated charcoal. I have a clinical intolerance to gluten and the effects of accidental gluten exposure are largely reduced by AC if taken quickly after.

Next time grab 3 or 4 sandwiches and just eat the stuff in the middle. As for what to do after a grain binge, just try to not repeat. Other than that, keep eating clean.

Time. Probiotics. Grass fed beef fat and liver. Gelatin.

Avoid doing it again!

Drink lots of water to help your body detox itself from the grain load, and go back to clean eating as always. Everything will go back to normal(:

Next time bring snacks so you're not starving! Being prepared helps.

Fall back into the groove and think of it as a really unhealthy 'carb load' and move on.

Activated charcoal is the medical standard for poison ingestion. I wonder if AC believes the mainstream view of whole grains?
