They say that we should strive to be 90% paleo... Which foods most frequently make up your 10%?

*Please make a note if you exercise regularly (besides walking).

We are on the same page! I don't know if you like chocolate, but dark chocolate truffles made with just a little rose oil are heavenly...

I would be interested to know how much water people drink each day. 8 cups, more than 8 or less than 8.

Yeh would be interested to hear what people drink alcohol-wise. This of special interest to me considering my student status!

protein powders (milk and/or milk/egg derived proteins), unsweetened almond milk.

Every once in a while I'll get gelato or sorbet.

oatmeal/rice/Ezekiel bread (exceedingly rarely as of late...pretty much not at all except for rice when i eat sushi out)

Paleo dispensations:

  1. Lemonade or iced tea iff outdoors and thirsty. Thirst takes priority over avoidance of modest sugar intake, I???ve decided. Bottled water in plastic I've become skeptical of.

  2. 66% Dove chocolate. The low percentage, high sugar content, and mystery ingredients make this item probably non-Paleo.

  3. Veggie dishes fried in non-Paleo oil. A temporary dispensation of convenience I plan to eventually retire.

Dispensations do not include outright cheats, of course.

Rarely, I enjoy cold white basmati mixed with coconut cream, maybe a fresh date added or a bit of honey or maple syrup. Ie rice pudding...

Would do dairy if not for having had intolerance issues, and doubt I've got healthy enough for it to be an option (if it could be an option...)

I pretty much consider the 10% to be foods that have significant drawbacks (eg a ton of fructose, easy to over do, but they could still be 'paleo'. e.g. fresh medjool dates), anything 'desserty' really. Not really keen on breads etc at this moment, maybe one day if I sort things out a but more a dark sourdough rye could be in order...

also I do move regularly, aside from walking..

Wine and chocolate. I was acclimating to 80 %, but then discovered Theo Brand 70% salted dark with almonds which is so unbelievably good...

Beer, beans, dark chocolate, teaspoon or so of maple syrup per serving of Greek yogurt, and some sugar (about a teaspoon in my coffee, and also in the form of creme brulee or a flourless chocolate cake). About to cut down my sugary 10% to just coffee-sugar as I have noticed that since I got more lax I weigh more than I did in the fall when I was stricter. (Not obese or even overweight but more than I am used to).

I have a weakness for rye and pumpernickel bread, too, but I try not to give in on those too often.

Haven't been doing much "exercise" lately but about to step that up, too.

Honey <3 or ice cream. I'm autoimmune paleo and that frozen banana (as ice cream) with some strawberries blended in, and some cocoa powder. Dairy ice cream would kill me!

Froyo is my weakness... I have no willpower against the espresso flavor.
