PaleoHacks added to Duck Duck Go search engine.

This isn't a question. I just wanted to let everyone know that I got PaleoHacks added to Duck Duck Go's "bang" search.

Duck Duck Go allows you to search other websites using special keywords preceded by an exclamation points. For example, you can type "paleo diet !g" into DDG and it will search Google. !y for Yahoo, !gi for Google Images, !yt for YouTube, !a for Amazon, !w for Wikipedia, etc. There's literally thousands of these, which you can read about here.

I asked them to add PaleoHacks, and they just added it. Now you can use !paleo to search PaleoHacks.com from DDG!

jake3 -- it is more nuanced than that. Google displays search results through it's index. DDG just lets the site search in it's own way...

Okay, I just checked it out and see that there clearly is a substantial difference. I don't know if I'll seriously use this myself, but it is different and kinda cool.

Ach ??? I just ran the two searches myself and I see the difference now. Google displays the search results on its own site. DDG displays the results on the named site.

That much I understood. But I still don't understand from your initial response what the difference in results is from Google with the parameter " site:paleohacks.com" and your DDG query is.

not the same. site:paleohacks.com does a google search but only returns results that come from paleohacks. duck duck go actually searches paleohacks. Although if you have chrome or firefox you can create keywords and do the same from your address bar.
