Paleo Tequila Chasers?

Answered on August 19, 2014
Created June 09, 2011 at 1:33 AM

So through this website I have learned that 100% agave tequila is a good low carb alcoholic beverage! Now I want to know some good zero/low carb chasers! If you don't know what a chaser is.. after you take a shot you cancel out the gross taste with a strong tasty drink. Thanks for reading!

I second drinking less so you can afford the good stuff. When you buy good liquor its to savor the better taste, not binge drink it like some fool high school kid. You are an adult now, start drinking like an adult.

Buy better tequila. Premium liquors do not need chasers.

If you like a kick, cut a habanero pepper in half (widthwise) and let it sit in your tequila in a non-reactive (glass, ceramic) bowl or other vessel for 10 minutes before using. The longer the pepper sits in the tequila, the spicier the tequila gets. Ten minutes is plenty long, believe me.

ive always thought that if the liquor tasted so gross that it needed chasing, that it shouldnt be drunk in the first place and that one should start investing in better quality booze.

traditionally in Mexico they serve tequila with 3 shot glasses (called the bandera/the flag) one is the tequila, the other is lime juice (fresh), the last is tomato juice (fresh)

Well, this is not super low carb, and if you're cutting out nightshades, you'll probably bypass this as well. Sangrita is a more classic, but less common, chaser for tequila. You can also make a little rim mixture for your shot glass, using some ancho powder and salt.
