@nautry - No, it was meant seriously. "Internet trolls" often come on here and ask questions like this - questions meant to infuriate the average PH member. Because your question showed displeasure at losing weight quickly, we thought that you might be a troll. Since you're not, welcome. ;-)

I work at UGA and me and a friend walk 30 min in the am and 30 min at noon. I have arthritis really bad in my knees so walking really hurts. I really need to take water classes. I use coconut milk as my creamer for my coffee...Should I drop that too.

are you doing any other sort of exercise? Walking doesn't seem to touch my weight at all but running at least a few times a week will make weight fall off me. Others here claim to have more luck with weight lifting (not me, at all). Might be worth experimenting with some exercise routines.

So, to summarize: you are unhappy with losing 1.25lbs a week over the last twelve weeks?

Regardless, you need to clean up your question. Try to use full sentences, and explain what your actual issues are. Your height, weight, gender, and age would help, too.

Losing one pound per week is about the maximum healthy and sustainable weight loss. Try eating more protein + green vegetables and less fruit. You'll feel less hungry because your blood sugar won't jump up and down.

Even if you believe that you have a long way to go and haven't made enough progress, try not to eat too little because it will slow your metabolism down.

Also, consider adding some cardio and strength training. Eating a high protein diet and building muscle feels good.

In your original post, you listed two small meals and a snack. How far into your day was it when you had eaten that? It seems like very little food. That would leave me hungry too.

1 egg and 2 slices of bacon? A bacon and egg breakfast for me would be more like 3 eggs and 3 slices of bacon. I think bacon is tasty, but not very satisfying.

One burger patty a cup of raw carrots also isn't much, especially if you've had so little for breakfast.

Also, I think 15 lbs in 3 months is an excellent pace for weight loss.

I agree with those who say you aren't eating enough. My weight loss increased when I started eating MORE - more fat, raw dairy, more meats - I also made sure to eat some carbs via a few veggies and a little white rice. It seems to me that older women (I am 48) have trouble with VLC, and we need to watch going into too much of a deprivation mode. Above all, pat yourself on the back for what you've done - your weight loss is GREAT!!! Relax and have some fun. Give yourself permission to eat more of the right foods for you. Stress seems to be the enemy of weight loss. Keep up the good work!

You should be thrilled with your weight loss so far and try not to get stressed out about it. Stress causes people to put on pounds thanks to elevated leptin levels so try your hardest not to get angry with the scale or yourself.

Your diet seems a bit too low in calories though (sounds counter productive but it's true) and it doesn't seem like you're eating enough protein to hold you over, hence why you're feeling very hungry today. I always like to get at least a pound of protein in my diet every day, coupled with fiber-rich vegetables like spinach, green beans and winter squashes.

Another component you should add to your diet is more healthy fat. Coconut Oil is great and has been documented as being a weight loss aid too, so not only do you get an appetite suppressant (because healthy fat helps curb cravings) but you also get a fat (Medium Chain Fatty Acid) that is working to fight fat in your body! Win Win!

@nauty

Play around with these calacualtors

As GM points out you've lost 1.25 lb per week. A lot folks would be pretty happy with that rate. imo you want to shoot for a couple hundred calories per day deficit.

Get like 35% of your calories from protein, 100 grams (or less) from carbs, the rest from good fats. Beware of nuts...very calorically dense (& my downfall), a couple handfuls can derail fat loss.

So can insuffient calories.... unfortunately, sometimes oyu have to track calories to get a handle on the situation.

It took time to gain this weight, it will take time to lose it. It took me ~6 months to lose ~25 lbs and I'm a guy with a fair amount of muscle.

Good luck..keep at it. See how things work & make adjustments as needed.

I don't think you're eating enough, to be honest. You only listed two meals, what are you having for dinner?

I also think a few tablespoons of coconut oil would curb your hunger a LOT.

Definitely cut out the fruit, seeds and carrots. Eat more eggs, meat and green veggies. Walking is great if you are VLC as opposed to doing too much cardio. I hit a stall until I cut out dairy and nuts. 12 lbs is nothing to be ashamed of.

I think you're not eating enough. From my persepective and understanding about the human body just from the way my body works is, as long as you're eating real food, then keep eating. Your body will increase it's metabolism to burn the extra "calories" (hate using that word and i'm a personal trainer lol). Also try to eat more protein and fiber. The fiber will make you feel fuller longer, and will help pass food through your intestines better. You may want to cut down on the dairy and fruit as well. Veggies > fruits unless you're feeling hypoglycemic.
