I have read so many different stories from raw vegans to macrobiotics to of course paleo on curing acne. Wondering if anyone has had experience with any of these diets and which worked/didn't work. Trying to find connections with my diet and my skin breakouts. Thank you!

Do the GAPS protocol and get your gut in good shape. My acne is related to not being able to digest carbs properly so I'm doing Low Carb GAPS with bonebroths and probiotics.

Dairy was always the biggest culprit for me with regard to acne breakouts. If I had a glass of milk or some ice cream, I knew that within three to four days, I would have pimples. I also noticed that eating lots of sugar wasn't good either, but dairy was worse. In my experience, it had nothing to do with the lactose; I'd have lactose-free milk or ice cream and will still break out. I attribute it to other proteins such as casein or antibodies in milk.
I've come to realize that if a particular food or food group is causing me skin issues (e.g. acne, eczema, etc.), that that is a sign that my body is mounting an immune response in response. I used to just ignore what my body was saying but improved once I started to listen to it.
Paleo works for me because dairy is out, as are most carbohydrate sources. The carbs make your insulin levels go crazy which can lead to acne as well.

Things that cause my acne (in order of prevalence):
1) Vegetable oils 2) Stress 3) Dairy 4) Grains 5) Sugar

meat can be full of hormones?! maybe all the drugs and crap in the meat are affecting you because your body is used to only having pure vegetables and fruit!?
