Paleo breakfast + butter/bulletproof coffee = calorie surplus?

Hi guys I've started drinking butter coffee since Monday (4 days now). I'm not using bulletproof beans but moconna instant coffee granules, unsalted organic grass fed butter and coconut oil. I've started to break out with pimples and it's annoying the krap out of me. Is it the butter or the coffee?? I should mention that I have not yet started IF I eat a big paleo breakfast complete with eggs nuts berries etc and finish off my meal with butter/coconut oil coffee. I am definitely feeling fuller. I am concerned though that because I am not IFing that I am consuming more calories at breakfast. What do you guys think? Should I give IF a try? Also the instant coffee with butter - is that bulletproof? If not, do you think I should try with real coffee beans? I'm worried I'm putting weight on rather than losing it with my paleo breakfast + butter coffee habits. Any advice guys? Cheers:)

Skip the bulletproof coffee, skip a breakfast occasionally, if you're full at "lunchtime" skip that too. Eat a boar for dinner.

If you suspect the coffee or the butter is causing you pimples, drop one for a week, see what happens, then switch the two for a week, and again see what happens.

By the strictest definition, your drink isn't bulletproof since you're using instant coffee and non-grassfed butter. That said, IMO, Bulletproof coffee is a bit of nonsense anyway.

It could be the butter, but I understand that properly produced butter is rarely a problem for most people. Nuts on the other hand are high in omega 6 fats which, as we know, promote inflammation. Are inflammation and pimples connected, I think so. When did you start eating the nuts with breakfast? Before starting the coffee ritual or at the same time. If you have been eating the nuts for a while without the pimples, then it's probably not that.

What about new stress in your life? this may also be playing a role with your skin issue?

Just some more thoughts. Easiest way to figure it out is to cut out one thing at a time for a bit and see what happens.

I bet it's the butter that is causing the pimples. Milk / milk derivatives are a common problem for people's skin it seems. I can personally attest to this, as when I cut out the GF butter from my morning coffee I had eczema on my back and shoulders go away within several days!

Fat or calorie surplus does not equal pimples. However, hormonal changes in your body instigated from your diet could be causing them. Additionally you could be sensitive to certain dairy compounds, exasperating the situation and that could be directly linked to the butter you're putting in your coffee. Well i started bulletproof coffee because i am trying to go off milk. I love and need my morning cup of coffee! I look forward to it. Should i try IF? I am not fat but do struggle with stubborn fat in my trouble areas, i work out 5-6 days a week lifting weights+cardio. So should i buy coffee beans and give this IF +bulletproof coffee a real try or stick with paleo breakkie +almond milk coffee minus the butter? Ive noticed acne and bloated feeling for the past few days. I am feeling fatter..

I would just eat the healthy paleo breakfast and skip the "bulletproof" coffee. If you like coffee, then drink it, but if not, don't waste your time. The bulletproof guy wants to sell products. IF is good for some, not as good for others. I personally eat 1 meal per day about once a week, 2 meals per day about 4 times per week, and 3 meals per day about twice a week. I also never snack. Mix it up a bit and you keep your body and metabolism guessing.
