Wow. That is delicious. Food heaven. I'll bet you ARE exhausted but won't it be nice for your guests to go to a body sans the bloat after-effect? Have a great party.

I'm having one this weekend. Food reward, shmood reward! Here's what I am serving:

Grilled peaches wrapped in bacon with basil and balsamic reduction

Prosciutto wrapped dates stuffed with walnuts and herbed goat cheese

Salami chips with guac and faux hummus and zucchini butter spreads

Parmesan crisps with spicy tomato jam, bacon jam, and carrot almond pate

Assorted cheeses with almond crackers and plantain chips

Chicken wings

Frozia (Italian omelet)

Greek meatballs

Mozzarella stuffed chicken sausage balls

Deviled eggs (wasabi and guacamole)

Spiced nuts (garlic habanero macadamias and curried walnuts)

Veggie tray with bacon-mayo dip and roasted red pepper dip

Stuffed mushrooms

Spicy pickled green beans

Buffalo Mozzarella & Summer Vegetable Wrap

Paleo cookie tray

Chocolate dipped strawberries

Fruit kabobs with honey yogurt dip

I'm freaking exhausted but looking forward to sharing my delicious foods with everyone.

  1. I recommend the jalapenos wrapped in bacon and baked in the oven. If you use dairy you could put some cheese as well. The more seeds you remove the less hot they will be.

  2. And of course liver pate is always great..but without the crackers. I put mine on a piece of roastbeef and some raw horseradish. You could use deli roast beef and wrap the pate with toothpicks after cutting the roll in sections.

  3. Smoked salmon on top of cucumber slices with a smear of seasoned homemade mayo or just herbs.

  4. Little lettuce wraps with some butter lettuce and paleo-friendly chicken salad.

  5. Chicken sausage cut up and fried in coconut oil then served with toothpicks. Possible marinara dipping sauce on the side?

  6. Fruit (strawberries) with whipped coconut milk dip and a little bit of honey.

  7. Chicken wings!

Have a nice party.

try making a batch of rumaki. They are different from what most people bring, and they usually fly off the pan.

  • crudites (cut-up raw vegetables of your choosing - perhaps red bell peppers, celery, broccoli, cauliflower) with homemade guacamole and almond butter and baba ganoush
  • prosciutto wrapped dates
  • shrimp cocktail
  • olives
  • nuts (if you are open to them or want to soak/dry them)
  • meatza (cut into cute little shapes)
  • steak tartare (more appetizer than hors d'oeuvres)
  • deviled eggs
  • grilled or oven-roasted vegetables (like asparagus, eggplant, zucchini)

Sarah on everydaypaleo.com had a recipe for guacamole with fried plantain. Her recipe called for yellow plantain, but I mistakenly bought green. So, I made tostones, which are fried once in coconut oil, then smooshed, then soaked in a water/salt solution, dried off and fried again. Definitely not an everyday snack because of the starch, but really delicious!
