New to Paleo - Thoughts on Nutrition

Hi there! I'm just starting out on the paleo diet. Three weeks ago I did 5 days knowing I'd blow it on a holiday weekend. I did, and was excited to get back. Now I'm in my second full week and feel great. My exercise routine typically varies from cardio/strength/power yoga, but my husband convinced me to start running a few weeks ago. So I've been doing interval jogging / yoga and will start back strength today.

The lowest weight I've been able to maintain as an adult is 137 when I was in my mid 20's, now I'm 29. I've been unsuccessfully trying to lose weight for about 3 years. I'm 5'1 and have fluctuated between 146-158. It seems I'm so overweight it shouldn't be that difficult to lose...but I've tried all sorts of things without lasting results. Because of that I didn't weigh when I started paleo but I'm pretty sure I was in the mid-high 150s. I've read so many testimonies of people losing 10lbs in the first month I'm resisting weighing so I won't get discouraged.

I have continued counting calories. I'm stuffed after dinner and usually eating about 1000-1200 calories in a day. Because of this it's been really hard to knick my evening wine habit. It seems that if I'm staying under 1500, which I am, I should be able to lose weight. All of the reading I've done of course says wine shouldn't be a part of my daily life, so I know I need to quit, but so far when I'm coming in at 1,000 calories and stuffed I've had a really difficult time telling myself I'm not allowed to drink.

 I couldn't imagine eating any more than I am so I'm afraid you're going to tell me I'm in starvation mode. I read focusing on getting more fat helps transitioning to paleo so I've been doing that, and though you're going to say I'm not getting enough protein this is the most I've ever eaten in my life. I just averaged 12 days of nutrient breakdowns and here's the results:

Calories - 1402

Carbs - 93g

Fat - 57g

Protein - 57g 

 

So in one way I feel great keeping under 1500 calories and 100g carbs, but I also know it would be way lower without alcohol. I fully expect you'll tell me to eat more protein and stop drinking. But is there anyone in the world who thinks I'm doing a pretty good job and will have success losing weight? Thanks!
