My breakfast today: How did I do?

I am starting to get the hang of this lifestyle I think. I find I am eating two large meals (one morning one evening) and one snack in the afternoon. I love that I am not "STARVING" all the time anymore, and I'm eating to nourish my body.

This morning I started with having a 6 oz cup of coffee with 1 tbsp or less of heavy cream and 1/2 tsp of raw honey. I'm not quite ready to give up coffee, but I have cut back tremendously. Is this alright? Or will it hinder me?

I also prepared a good-sized steak (I like my meat quite rare) 2 eggs and about a cup and a half of mixed veggies (broccoli, mushroom, carrot, celery, red pepper, a few water chestnuts.) All cooked in coconut oil.

How did I do on this meal?

That sounds delicious and perfect. I love having a big bowl of veg for brekkies with a bunch of very rare meat and some over easy eggs. I usually have lamb, though. Mmmm.

I haven't read anything about coffee being bad on Paleo. I like coffee. And most people seem to think it is good. Although deep down we all know we have got to be kidding ourselves. :)

I ate oatmeal. Everyday. It was like religion! Now I eat left overs from the night before :)

I am on week 5. I had gone gluten/sugar-free last Nov and was looking for something more to feel even BETTER! It seems to be doing the trick. So much energy, happier, sleeping well! I do find it odd! I used to eat Kashi cereal or whole grain toast with PB a lot...but I am fuller longer now so I don't miss it much!

Sounds like an awesome meal. I'm enjoying something similar right now.

I think it sounds great! And don't worry your pretty little head over the coffee- it is pretty popular in the paleosphere.

Sounds great! At some point, you might want to consider trying a dairy-elimination diet, just because it gives so many people so much trouble. Other than that, it looks pretty close to ideal.

Sounds delish :) And don't beat yourself up about the coffee. I LOVE COFFEE, and it's something I will never give up. It looks like you have a good handle on what you should eat. How long have you been Paleo? Do you still find it strange that you don't have any bread like food with breakfast? It took me quite some time to get over that hump... Good luck with quitting the coffee, if you decide to do it :)
