A friend of mine (and her husband) are on Medifast. WOW both of them have lost a lot of weight. How ever she looks so drawn now. her husband not so much. Is that considered skinny fat? I took a look at some of the ingredients --YUCK!!

Skinny fat usually refers to a relatively thin person with a surprising amount of fat. The problem is that they lack muscle mass, and probably muscle tone, and can be very unhealthy despite looking slender at first glance.

In particular, skinny fat people may have surprisingly large waist circumferences because of visceral fat.
