If we are talking about "paleolithic" eating as defined by the modern "Paleo Diet" and it's ilk, I definitely the recent slide towards nutritionalism (a focus on vitamins/minerals, supplements, etc. vs. actual foods and our relationship to them) as a distraction from the originally simple message of "eat like a caveman" (or "hunter gatherer" or "your great great grandma"). If we are talking about "paleolithic eating" as defined by the actual practice of hunting and gathering, I'd say they've been "endangered" for several hundred years now.
