does it go against the paleolitic nature to track your macros and calories?

This is actually why you theoretically don't "need" apps or calorie trackers. If you are eating paleo you should be eating tons of fat and protein which is very satiating. Your body will tell you when you have had enough, but you do have to listen and know when to stop be honest with yourself and you will lose weight without needing to track every macro. When you hit a plateau these apps can be very useful to take weight loss to the next level. Paleo is a dietary lifestyle if this app helps you eat the right foods then go ahead.

Go for it. You'll need a form of caloric deficit if you want to lose fat anyways. I've been using it some days just to make sure i'm actually getting enough calories in my body because i eat so much fat and animal protein I get satieted easily.

Who's to say the Chauvet Cave Paintings weren't a paleolithic version of tracking amount of protein eaten? ;)

I use it. It is very helpful. Just be sure to go into your settings (on the computer, not app) and change your percentages. I've been paleo for about 1 month and have lost about 9 pounds.

Using electricity is not paleo.

Of course it is fine. This is not like a paleolithic civil war reenactment program. It's about eating the way we are designed to eat. An app like LoseIt! helped me lose 70lbs.
