Hey guys! I am new to Paleo and am having some difficulties deciding whether or not some things are Paleo. I have purchased a few books (Practical Paleo & The Paleo Primer) and one book says heavy whipping cream is not and the other uses it in many of the recipes that are included in the book. Tonight for dinner I made some chicken stir fry and used about 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream as the sauce. I am on a weight loss adventure and need some help. I have been doing this for 8 days now and have noticeable changes in my face size but have not lost any weight on the scale. Any information is great.

If you can tolerate or have no other issues with dairy then it's fine, it's kind of like butter. I would check the ingredients though. Some heavy creams have added thickeners (not paleo/primal).

It sort of depends on the quality.
There's an argument to be made that dairy is for calves, not people. On the other hand, we've been consuming it for thousands of years and it's delicious.
If you can get the full fat, organic, pastured heavy cream from a local dairy farm where the animals are treated well, that should be fine. If you're looking at the skim milk from confined animal farming operations fortified with mono / diglycerides, polysorbate, and carrageenan, it's probably not the healthiest choice you could be making.
