It depends on your objective. Date sugar is just ground up dates, and I'd lump it in with honey as a natural sweetener. If you're following the Cordain Paleo Diet, ad libitum fruit eating is OK, though I'd take it easy on eating a lot of date sugar because of the high calorie density. However if you're doing one of the low carb variants of Paleo get rid of it.
