I have been struggling with IST since May of this year. A lot of stress led up to it and I was also on several of Chinese herbs and went off of cold turkey and a few days later I ended up in the hospital with a heart rate of 180bpm. I am slowly getting better but still wonder if I will ever be fully normal. I am working with a Naturopath and have been Paleo for years and haven't touched caffeine or more than 1/2 glass of wine for alcohol and rarely eat sugar containing foods. I have been a competitive athlete my entire life and now it is impossible to work out without adverse effects. I have been suffering with adrenal fatigue for years I believe as well as low grade anxiety/worrier. Currently my symptoms are an elevated heart rate (much of the time- even while asleep so in a sort of half sleep all night), spaciness, fatigue, anxiety (panic that comes out of no where), muscle tension, costochondritis, as well as gastro issues and dizziness. I want to have a family as I am nearing 32 and I am not sure if that will ever happen at the state I am in now. I feel like there is not much for resources out there and I feel as though I am different than most adrenal patients, as my palpitations & tachy don't seem to go away. I take desiccated adrenal, magnesium, coQ10, licorice root, cod liver oil, Seriphos, and a precursor to GABA. I have been prescribed progesterone, although my levels are within range, just at the low end. I am nervous to try taking it as pregnenlone and a other things I have tried tend to give me adverse effects, such as migraines. I also am hypothyroid (not hashimotos) but am not currently treating it just yet in fear that it will be too stimulating to my already wound up/overly-sympathetic body. Any advice or direction here would be very much appreciated! Thank you all!

Many believe that recovery from deep AFS is not possible without fixing the kind of worrying and excessive mental chatter that I'm assuming you experience all the time.
All the herbs and glandulars are just addressing the symptoms and can easily lose their effect or become detrimental.
Do you meditation? Yoga? Biofeedback? Are you in bed at 9:30 PM?
I would read Dr. Lam's book on AFS, follow Eric Berg on YouTube, and read Jack Kruse's thoughts on this condition.
