How to quickly recover from a sudden acne breakout?

I'm not really sure what caused it. I doubt it was gluten. I've been eating a lot of nuts recently, going to cut those out again. But I have a feeling it might be the N-acetylcysteine I started taking. I started breaking out soon after I started taking the supplement, so I'm going to stop taking it.

My skin has really come along way so this is frustrating. I want to get back to what I was a week ago asap. Any advice would be appreciated. FYI, I'm already drinking bone broth.

If you get cystic/painful acne, ice works wonderfully to reduce the inflammation in the meantime. Unlike the Zeno, which uses heat, ice will not leave brown marks on the skin and is very cheap.

Ya I usually break out days afterwards, but also experience asthma fairly soon after eating them.

No I can't tolerate eggs, even pastured. It's a shame :(

Have you been eating any omega3 fortified eggs? that always causes cystic acne for me.

I doubt it was the Nac. There's not much you can do to make breakouts go away once they're already there besides washing with sea salt water to dry them out. Eat only anti-inflammatory foods in the meanwhile.

To treat the pimples, you can apply a dab of tea-tree oil to them with a Q-tip, let it sit for for ten minutes, then apply a dime-sized amount of grapeseed oil all over your face to moisturize. make sure to change your pillowcase before bed. If you need to wear make-up, then use a loose mineral powder that does not contain talc or bismuth. Happy Healing!

How to treat:

Reduce intake of anything inflammatory or high in Omega-6.

Stop touching your face.

Apply small amount of extra virgin coconut oil to affected area before bed.

Use delicate (if any) soap in the shower, and end shower with a cold rinse on your face.
