Has anybody actually tried fasting for acne/red marks

If so, did it work? How long was the fast? What happened after? What was your activity like during the fast?

I say just stick strictly to paleo protocol. Recently I've only had breakouts or complexion flare-ups when I eat dairy/sugar. If I go high-fat, moderate-protein, low-carb, everything clears up in a matter of days. Maybe kickoff with a 24-hour fast and/or do IF, but don't starve yourself waiting to look like a Neutrogena ad.

I've been doing alternate day fasting for weight loss (eat normal one day, fast the next), and my acne has greatly reduced unexpectedly. I think its because I'm now more insulin sensitive. Activity wise, I like to workout in the evenings of my fasting days to try to burn a bit more fat, and it helps me get to sleep with an empty stomach.

DFermotologists will tell you that what you eat does not effect acne. Many disagree (not me).
The only diet change that has helped me is taking probiotics and digestive enzymes. They probably help because they control yeast (Candida) populations and I am a firm believer in a yeast connection to skin problems.

I just did a 3 day "fat fast" this weekend, and I was surprised to see all my acne clear up. Wasn't expecting that.
