Hack Paleo Dating

Commented on June 01, 2015
Created October 31, 2011 at 12:41 AM

Alright, I have a question for everyone out there. Does anyone know of any great sites that ONLY cater to Paleo Dating? I know there's all those okcupid, plentyoffish, eharmony crap out there, but something just for folks who eat Paleo and live the Paleo lifestyle. If not, I'm probably giving someone a great idea to make bank in the Paleo world, but I don't care, as long the idea spreads!

The more Paleo couples = Paleo babies = More folks to spread the word.

I think that is kind of ridiculous. So what? I could care less what her interests are, hobbies are, whatever so long as we .. but is it so much to ask that I prefer a woman makes her fitness and health a priority? Perhaps not paleo per say, but damn I would rather my girl eat well at the very least.

My partner isn't paleo, and I don't care. Dating web sites are restrictive enough--I doubt we would have gotten together if we had met that way, and here we are 12 years later ....

LOL. What could be more paleo than meeting your lover over the internet? Seriosuly though, I am out of ideas for a less paleo thing to do. Go run a charity 5k by yourself and you'd literally have to try NOT to walk away with new number from a health conscience, outdoorsy person.

WTF? Religion actually does define you as a person much more than what you eat. Comparing food lifestyle to racism is a little extreme.

Do you also object to the Christian dating sites, the vegetarian dating sites, the Mensa, Indian, gay, black and other niche dating sites? Specialized dating sites have become quite common. I really doubt the OP actually plans to take over the world by breeding paleo kids.

I would not say that I had an allergy in any circumstance where I might eventually have to change my story (such as dating), especially since "I feel better when I avoid wheat/gluten/grains" is equally understandable and presumably more truthful.

No. I don't think that extremely poor, uneducated populations will ever take over just because they have the highest birth rate. I think they won't be able to sustain themselves. I want women to be fertile as it is an indicator of good health, but their SUV driving babies aren't goin to be good for mine. I think 1 paleo kid per 2 paleo parents would more than suffice for the time being. Just a matter of not taking more than you can give... And I definitely see having 2+ kids (at this population) as taking, not giving.

Couldn't agree more. Dietary preferences wouldn't even be in the top five. Values, interests, personality, long-term plans would be more important. Fishing in the small paleo pond might not be the best strategy to find a match that works across all dimensions.

Same. When someone offers me bread or candy and I opt out, they ask why. Then it gets awkward, because "it's my diet." Explanation over why I am dieting follows. The explanation is seldom sufficient.

This is true if effective. Otherwise, it can lead to locked cabinets, disorder, and awkward meals. It's hard to even date girls who eat a lot of gluten and dairy...Especially when you see how Paleo girls look and act when compared. Paleo has saved me, yet ruined me.

It makes sense to look for someone with whom you have similar values, but I wouldn't make paleo the foundation of my relationship. People grow and change over time. If you want a lasting relationship there has to me more than just current interests binding you together. What would you do if your SO decided to follow a different dietary path at some point in the future? Break up? Divorce?

I know of several successful mixed-dietary-style relationships. It only ever seems to be a problem in relationships that were already floundering. The foundation of a good relationship is mutual respect and love, not identical thought processes.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with a paleo dating site, but there is a lot more to a successful relationship than perfectly matched dietary preferences.

GROK met women in person back in the old days. Sterotypically, he met them with a club and not at a club. Also, he got a chance to evaluate indicators such as hygeine and odor before he would commit to anything else including weeks of chat conversation. You can't tell some things over the internet. You can smell things like diabetes and infection sometimes in a person who isn't smothered in perfume.

Just joking about clubs, I think Grok was probably quite nice to women actually seeing as how all they had to do was walk away and there was no officer to file a missing persons report or internet to track them down.

it's so obvious that being paleo alone won't necessarily result in a match. Can't see anywhere on this post where anyone made that claim.

However it's a dam good place to start if it's an option! Eating and health is a huge part of life and everyone who eats paleo knows this. You find a match in this category and you tick more than one box!

I agree about the internet. once again when you see someone in real life it answers more than one question. paleo speed dating could be a good idea. even better if they provided paleo cuisine at the event.

the pool of paleo people might not be that big but that's not what the discussion is about. if it works it works. most people only need to find one person (at a time anyway).

it's ridiculous to object to this idea. it doesn't hurt anyone. sounds great to me.

Also, if you don't look for paleoish type people at the outset and you find someone anyway, you get married, you somehow (with difficulty) make it work with this major difference in beleifs, you get to about 50 or 60 years old and the non paleo parter gets sick as predicted and eventually dies (the whole experience pretty tough although completely avoidable), what do you do then?? Start all over again? why not just get it right at the start?

If you cook tasty meals and are an example of health its not that hard to get your partner to eat Paleo. My GF is resistant to new ideas and proudly ate mostly Taiwanese food (her ethnicity) but she now eats 80% paleo. Whenever she was at my house I would make us paleo breakfast, lunch and/or dinner and then would point out to her how much better we feel after eating vs after eating a high carb, gluten laden meal. Now when she does stray its rice noodles or maybe some soy milk in coffee. Since she realized herself how much better she feels when eating paleo she is now the one that insists we follow the diet a alot of the time.

Wanting to be with someone you have something in common with is a big commonality for me. Paleo is a huge part of my life and I want to date someone who eats the same way I do so I started a new site for dating Paleo, PaleoSingles.com. Just being with someone Paleo like me makes cooking dinner more pleasant, finding the right place to eat out more exciting and understood by your bf/gf. Once I went Paleo I wanted to figure out a good way to meet other Paleo eaters, its a lifestyle choice and a big one for me now, so hopefully the site will work for others too.

This would be great. Most people have no idea what paleo is.. And people like my soon to be ex husband try to undermine me (in regards to our son) so really paleo or not is definitely going to be more important than religion (which is never important to me) or what have you the next time I go looking for a potential partner or especially potential sperm donor...

I'm sure there are dating sites devoted to bringing fellow orthorexics together.

This is on the same level of racism and fascism. just like being black, white, jewish, or protestant does not define you as a person, the kind of food you eat does not either. Careful with this line of thinking.

Do you also object to the Christian dating sites, the vegetarian dating sites, the Mensa, Indian, gay, black and other niche dating sites? Specialized dating sites have become quite common. I really doubt the OP actually plans to take over the world by breeding paleo kids.

WTF? Religion actually does define you as a person much more than what you eat. Comparing food lifestyle to racism is a little extreme.

I think that is kind of ridiculous. So what? I could care less what her interests are, hobbies are, whatever so long as we .. but is it so much to ask that I prefer a woman makes her fitness and health a priority? Perhaps not paleo per say, but damn I would rather my girl eat well at the very least.

My experience with the opposite sex is that they find your healthy lifestyle and energy motivating and attractive, so they naturally try to emulate you by exercising more and eating more naturally. Friends that are guys seem to get offended, defensive, or borderline angry.

I don't know anything about online dating, but i don't think a similar way of eating should be the cornerstone of a relationship. A site for only paleo dating seems like semi-eugenics and very close minded and elitist.

Since becoming Paleo and Single all in the same era of my life I have found it difficult to consider a long term relationship with someone that doesn't Paleo. Without joining dozens of dating sites and filtering out the non-Paleos, I decided to make my own. Im finding the Paleo diet lifestyle is such a big part of my life and has transformed my mind and body so much that I now want the same self respect in my girlfriend.

So, I just launched http://paleosingles.com check it out. It's not just for Paleo eaters. Vegans, Vegetarians, and many other diet lifestyles are welcome and may search members by diet lifestyle.

http://paleosingles.com is 100% free and full access for all members from chatting, IM, forums, blogs, who viewed your profile, member searching, classifieds, events, games, and much more!

LOL. What could be more paleo than meeting your lover over the internet? Seriosuly though, I am out of ideas for a less paleo thing to do. Go run a charity 5k by yourself and you'd literally have to try NOT to walk away with new number from a health conscience, outdoorsy person.
