I just discovered cron-o-meter and am tracking my fats/carbs/protein etc. I find it helpful to get the ratios correct as I'm following the perfect health diet which allows for some safe starches. It's going well, however I am concerned with the amount of fat I'm consuming.
Today I had 2 meals. The first consisted of 2 poached eggs, sauteed spinach, garlic, 2 slices of bacon and a touch of homemade hollandise sauce. (it was delsh!). Dinner included some white rice (it's allowed in the book!!), chicken wings (so good!), peas and salad. It all seems pretty healthy.. just to note- the wings were tossed with a homemade BBQ sauce which included butter.
When I track my calories they seem okay.. I didn't eat too much today and i was about 1400 or less. However, the fat is thru the roof! I am at close to 90 grams!! Almost double the recommended dose of saturated.
I know that fats are 'allowed' and 'accepted' in the paleo community.. however.. how much is too much? I still worry that i'm going to keel over from a heart attack or that my cholesterol is going to go up and do damage.
I do have some weight to lose-- however, I'm just trying to get the hang of this diet and heal so weight loss isn't an immediate priority.
Thanks in advance! Christine
