Dizzy feeling, not nausea though...

Hi I am new to Paleo, my husband and I have been trying it almost purely for 4 weeks. When I say almost purely we have had a couple of beers, ceasar dressing out of a bottle, parmesan cheese and cooking a bit with remaining canola oil, that kind of thing.

I have had a bit of brain fog but not much but last night after a glass of wine I felt a slight twinge on the upper left side at the back of my brain. Since then I have been feeling a bit dizzy but no nausea. Anyone ever have that? Am I allergic?

I have tried to understand about the ketones thing but I don't get it, seems pretty complicated. I have a friend who just advised me to just eat properly balanced meals, which we do, lots of veg and protein. We eat a great variety and love recipes from Elana's Pantry.

Is that ok or should I be counting carbs? I have lost 5lbs in 4 weeks and I'm not a huge exerciser, ie running 1-2x per week. Mind you I have 3 young children that keep me hopping.

Thanks Hannah

It's unlikely it's an allergy, it's just tolerance adjustment. :)

Thanks Eugenia. We have drank all the beer so won't be getting anymore. I am thinking I might have a wine allergy. But honestly I don't enjoy it as much on this diet.

Try to avoid beer, because of gluten. However, the "problem" is that your body has re-awaken and it's more sensitive to toxic stuff now. Like alcohol. People on Paleo and keto diets have found that their alcohol tolerance has gone down to about half. It's normal, and a good thing.

Regarding dizziness, I had it in the first 2-3 months after I went Paleo. Toxins were cleaning up from my body, producing such effects. It eventually subsided.

It could be a low sodium levels. I had this as well and have been working to balance sodium, potassium and magnesium and it has made a huge difference.
