+1 to your quote. I too lost weight, about 20 pounds, when I first started paleo without exercising (within a year's time). I dropped 10 pounds in two weeks, but now I've plateaued. Time to get good looking naked!

Definitely! I've lost 25 pounds by just altering my diet. I'm now at a standstill. With the weather getting better (I live in Canada), I'll start walking the dog more often and hopefully will lose more!

YES!

Diet is the most important thing and will get you 80% there. Exercise helps, but isn't going to do much for you if you're still eating horribly. If you're eating well, then exercise is great for further sculpting...

Heard a great quote somewhere.

"If you want to look good, focus on diet. If you want to look good naked, focus on exercise."

It's possible to lose weight on nearly any diet, including paleo diets, without exercise. You will almost certainly go about losing weight slower than someone who is physically active, but it's definitely possible.

If you can be physically active, you really should be - there's much more to optimal health than just being thin, in my humble opinion.

Of course. To lose weight you only need a calorie deficit. Exercise greatly improves health and body composition though.

Yes, you can lose weight without exercising when on the Paleo diet. But it works best when you add in the needed workouts for you to see the optimum results out of it. Paleo is a very effective diet but it becomes much more effective when you're active, but I have seen many people achieve the results without even lifting a finger.

I've been on the diet long enough to know how it works. Been very grateful of a friend that introduced me to it.

I hope you find your answers right here.

I lost 40 lbs on diet changes alone.

After adding a weight lifting regimen I ended up putting ON 20 lbs. because I'm still fitting the same clothes I as after I dropped the 40 lbs, reasonable to assume I put on muscle and lost even more fat.

Exercise doesn't do much to help with weight loss. It's mainly diet. Although for optimum health you'd have a paleo diet with a moderate amount of exercise. Why don't you want to exercise?

I will echo what most people are saying here: I lost 80% of the weight I wanted to lose without exercising much. The last 20%, though, went (and is going) a lost easier with more exercise.

Importantly, though, while I exercise a lot more, now, it isn't really because I forced myself to do so. I just lost weight, felt better, and then doing active things like lifting weights and (especially) riding my bicycle became fun things. I want to do it.

So, for me: Changed diet --> losing weight --> wanting to exercise --) losing more weight.

Hi, Use high protein and low fats. Eat fresh and raw vegetables and drink more water. Drink lemon and hot water in the morning. Enova oil can loose your weight.

YES! I have a broken femur and need further surgery. I can walk and get around fine but definitely exercise is out until I have the hardware removed from my leg. Lost a ton of weight since doing paleo. started in Nov.

Yes. It is likely because you are mostly likely eating more fiber, eating less crap, and your going to the bathroom more regularly. That alone is going to help you lose weight. However, losing weight should also include increasing muscle, which you would have to exercise in order to do that.

Katie, you really need to look into HIIT workouts. I've lost 55 pounds doing no more than 30-minutes of exercise every day and eating right.

I am exercising, but I would like to be doing more. I work from home so I get in exercise every day but it's not as long or as intense as I want it to be and really I'd prefer to swim every day (I only swim on the weekends) I have a pretty moderate routine of jump rope and full body work out using a swiss exercise ball (LOVE it) as well as a routine of equipment-free exercises that takes me about 30 minutes a day. I drink lots of water and I am strict about the paleo diet. It's hard to say HOW much I've lost but I've lost a lot already, and it's only been less than a week for me on the diet. Since I was exercising before the diet (and was losing weight, but only very slowly) I think the major contributing factor to my recent shedding of pounds has been this diet. I'm not an expert at all but I can tell you my opinion that yes, absolutely, you can lose weight with this diet very quickly with probably little to no exercise. I agree with what bjjcaveman said above, exercising is for sculpting. I do want to look good naked, so that's why I'm continuing with the exercise as well as the diet. Literally, last week I had a belly that I could not seem to get rid of (had previously been pregnant) and this week it is nearly flat already. It's exhilerating! I'm so happy! :)
