Depends on how you feel. I do best after work, 5:30PM ish. On Saturdays, I workout with friends at 10:30 and I always do worst (and it's not because I stay up late drinking Friday night, I run the same sleep schedule all week).

I have friends who do best working out a 5:00 in the morning and are completely worn out if they do an afternoon workout.

I also do best in the heat of the day, I love a good mountain bike ride in the afternoon when it's 100 in the direct sun. Other friends do best at 6:30 in the morning before the heat gets started.

Some people feel better fastest, others need to eat before they workout.

You really just need to find what works for you. Everyone is different.

Early in the morning, in a fasted state. It makes it really easy to implement some intermittent fasting by doing this, and you're in a fat burning state during your workout. Just my opinion.

I find it mentally easier to workout in the early evening/late afternoon... but if I don't get my workout in early, I'm prone to making excuses not to work out at all.

The best time to exercise is the time when you are actually able to exercise. Morning/Evening/Day/Night. Doesn't matter. The "best time" means squat if you aren't able to exercise at that time.

I do it through the day at pretty much random times. Sport training is 9:00-10:40 and 6:30-8:10 for me 4 days a week though, so I've been spending free time doing anything I missed, playing, and relaxing since I'm on summer break as a student.

I can't really stand working out in very hot weather, which is the worst part of summer for me. I love summer rain, though!

I think this soley depends on the person and how he or she lives their lives. Everyone is different. While we all obviously sleep better at night rather than during the day, exercise is different.

I enjoy working out fasted in the morning hours the best. I did some sprints this morning but decided to go for another quick run in the late afternoon hours. I just workout when I want too.

There really is no ideal time but I would probably advise against working out within 4 hours of your bedtime.
