Hi all, wondering if you could help a paleo friend out.

I cant find any B complex or B vitamins which have methylfolate as a source of folate and methylcobalamin as as source for vitamin B12. Does anyone know where i can get it? Is methylcobaliamin even worth it or just take cyanocobalamin for B12? and folic acid for folate?

Why not just eat chicken liver for those?

Amazon.com sells MethylGuard Plus by Thorne Labs. It contains methylfolate (3 mg), B12 as methylcobalamin, B6, and riboflavin. Not cheap, but if you have the MTHFR gene indicators, it is good stuff. You can also buy methylfolate and B12 separately there.

I have purchased Thorne products twice from HealthDesigns dot com (their B complex fits your bill).

Delivered to Brisbane speedily, affordably.

If you have a B-12 deficiency, then I'd say the Methylcobalamin is definitely worth it. I took cyano for years and never felt a difference. My diabetic cat and his neuropathy led me to finding methylcobalamin (the cat's diabetes also led me to a paleo way of thinking). When I purchased it for him, I took a bit of it. I could actually feel the difference in my body within a half hour (energized, less foggy brained)...this never happened with the cyanocobalamin.

I don't know where you can find it in Australia, but I suggest you keep looking. In my experience it was definitely worth it to change.
