Any recommendations of paleo sources of caffeine?

Hi guys i am going to start having a small amount caffeine before my workouts! Is there any good healthy sources of caffeine that you recommend?

I'm thinking about trying just a shot of black coffee! Has anybody else tried this?

If so i'd like to hear wether it helped your performance in any way?

Silver needle white tea often has more caffeine / antioxidants than black. (http://www.elmwoodinn.com/about/caffeine.html) Might be worth checking out.

thanks for that :) i was thinking about trying green tea or coffee..but may try black tea, didnt think of that !

Paleo or not, I actually had some black tea last night before my workout-- unintentionally before, just wanted some extra zap-- but last night I worked out exceptionally well, and this morning my muscles felt great and I have all day. I think some in moderation is fine? I don't see why it's not, but I'm sure there's someone out there that's anti-caffiene, but it's not like you're chugging a monster or red bull.

caffeine before a workout can help to relieve fatigue and helps to reduce lactic acid so would like to see wether it helps !

What is the point of caffeine before a workout? I occasionally drink chicory in the mornings, but just because I like to have a hot drink (and I only like my tea sweet). I don't think chicory has caffeine though.

I drink black coffee and tea on occasion. I don't add anything to either unless fruit or honey to tea.
