I am going to school very soon and I am extremely interested in anthropology and different sciences.. what can I do with this kind of degree?

Maybe a degree in anthropology and a degree in biomechanical engineering?

That would be cool huh?

Any ideas?

I vote for this one. You can never have too much biochemistry

+1, but an undergraduate degree in business would be more suitable.

With a combination of biochemistry and anthropology, you'd be in a unique position to make a valuable contribution to our understanding of human health. See if you can somehow throw in some evolution and/or neurology.

Just be sure to combine it with something, preferably a STEM major (or maybe marketing). Your suggestion sounds good. By itself a bachelors in Anthro is a great key to the exciting world of retail management.

I studied social and cultural anthropology and loved it. I'm a journalist now and my classmates and I seem to have gone onto more lucrative careers than Damian would have you believe. Do it at a solid university and you're golden.

Do not, however, go for it with nutrition as your main interest and human diversity as a secondary one. Enjoy the food-related parts that come with it, but realize that the subject is about much more than diet and health!

Nutritional Anthropology coupled with biochemistry would be wicked.

If you love anthro, I would definitely encourage you to study it! I had a double major in anthro and journalism from SDSU (graduated in 1985). All through my studies, I kept telling people, I am majoring in Journalism to get a job, but I am majoring in Anthro because I love it! Funny enough, the anthro degree seemed to be more relevant to what I ended up doing (working with museums, cultural evetns, etc). Here in Washington, DC, if you are applying for a federal job, many positions cite Anthropology as a required/desired degree! I hardly ever see journalism mentioned.

I took all of my free electives in cultural anthropology. My degree is in electrical engineering. Even a few classes here and there were worth it...
