About how many calories for a day of sloth?

I've been sleeping a lot the last three days, like I've only spent six or so hours awake daily. (sleeping off a cold) So, naturally I haven't been eating much (~ 700 - 1000 cals). While I've been awake, I've only done some light cleaning... so my activity level has been fairly low. Just wondering if you guys think this is going to throw my metabolism completely out of whack (as if I were underfeeding myself) or not. thanks!

I think it's that I'm not awake long enough to get hungry again. I eat when I wake up and then a few hours later... and I'm asleep before another few hours rolls around.

It's not going to mess with your metabolism. The body is smarter than that. Short term changes don't do much.

If you're recovering from a cold and laying around all day I guess 1k cals would be OK... I mean that's really low. I think you could eat more than that. But then again if you have no complusion to eat I suppose it might be your body trying to heal up. When animals are sick they tend to not eat, or at least very little.

I try to stick with the old saying feed a cold and starve a flu, so usually eat as much as I can stomach when I have a cold. Of course I stick to meat and veges since activity is low.

You body's resting metabloic rate can be calculated using a newleaf assesment. Which is a great way to get both an exercise plan and a number for your resting metabolic rate.

Mine is rather high at 2200 calories. You seem to be eating too few calories.
