Huge oil spill at the Gulf of Mexico, Japan´s nuclear disaster, is the world going nuts?

When huge, devastating, and repeated mistakes are being made by corporations that are in control of the most modern technologies, in an area as powerful as energy, to the point of putting huge sections of the environment and large populations at risk, something has to be going really crazy. How do you see the connection between those huge "accidents" and paleo-lifestyle?

The Mayans killed themselves off by over farming the land. I dont think they knew anything that we dont today.

This is a huge topic, but isn't it Paleo related since all of these things will take a toll on our food supply?

go ahead with your short-sighted questions like "what is the best brand of hamburger" and keep closing the deeper questions, just in case you need to think a little bit OMG!

This is not an appropriate topic for PH, based on the guidelines: "Avoid asking questions that are overly subjective, argumentative, or require extended discussion. This is not a discussion board nor a blog, this is a place for questions that can be answered!"

Ed do not worry I do not support a web page so I am not looking forward for any "marketing" effect...I am curious, though, to know what people has to say about what is going on in Japan (a real tragedy of enormous scope) and perhaps, someone wiser than me can find an explanation, or interesting connection with diet or lifestyle. BTW I love your question on pets, and found interesting ideas to feed my doggie ! As you said, whatis relevent or not is kind of subjective. Cheers...

@Ignacio, relax, it takes 5 votes to close a question--highly unlikely. Our discussion here will probably bring you more pageviews and up-votes. I will not be offended if you vote to close some of my questions upon closer reading. Granted, whether something is off-topic or not can be subjective. But from the faq: "A "hack" is a shortcut, rule-of-thumb, or simply a good way to get something done quickly." Your question is important and serious (and, I admit, more important and serious than many of my questions), but I would not remotely consider it a "hack" question. Cheers,

I write "accident" rather than just accident, because it seems that, the corporations involved, BP and Tokyo Electricity had the responsibility to assess the risks and follow procedures that would have avoided those disasters, beyond the occurrence of unexpected natural events such as high oil pressure at the gulf spill, or the tsunami in Japan. They should have counted on those things to happen at sometime!

ED I read your questions and I found you have asked on topics as diverse as paleo-for-pets or poetry contests. I have absolutely no problem with your questions, but I wonder why would it be that paleo-for-pets or haiku are more relevant than environmental disasters..Just wondering...

so you think that there is no connection between the modern energy, modern farming and our diets? perhaps you do not see the connection, but I am sure others do! or paleohacks should only be about the way we eat?

Voted to close as off-topic. Not everything in the news makes a great PaleoHacks question.

It seems like humanity is going to destroy itself. I mean look at science, there has been many innovations, but at the same time we have taken many steps back and now we are suffering for it. Whether it be dietary or otherwise, humanity always thinks they know everything, but when it comes down to it, we don't know shit.

Check out a website called http://www.metahistory.org/ Then google something called "Synthia". Do some comparing and contrasting between Gaia-Sophia and Synthia. Read about the Archons on Metahistory.org Let the implications really sink in. If you're not overcome with horror...
