What's up with kefir?

I'm bloated and would like to lose a little more weight. My paleo diet is ok. What is the benefits of kefir and such?

Are you asking about dairy kefir or water kefir...or both?

I don't drink it regularly but it's supposed to be a fantastic source of probiotics. Could potentially help with your bloating. I like that it can be made from cow milk, goat milk, coconut milk, etc., so you can still enjoy it if you don't do dairy. I don't know that it could help you lose weight, but if you give some details about your diet, your current build & your goal, we could help you figure it out.

I've benefited from consuming dairy kefir. I make homemade milk kefir using raw goat milk. I didn't start consuming kefir until a month after starting paleo and it made a definite improvement in my digestion and regularity. I think adding fermented foods that you are not allergic to will benefit your gut flora and immune system.

I haven't yet had much dairy kefir, but I make water kefir at home and enjoy sipping a small glass every day. The fun with water kefir is that although it's a powerful probiotic beverage and should be good for my digestion, it's also a natural way to make low-sugar sodas. I'm not limited to carbonated water anymore!

If you do an Internet search for kefir or water kefir, how-to videos and sites selling kefir grains will come up.

Ive had a lot of problems with bad digestion also on paleo. It could go 5 days between every toilet visit. I started to drink kefir together with flax seed every day, 2 weeks ago. I also limited vegetables like cabbage and other vegetable that are hard to digest. I`ve been regulary ever since. So would really recommend it!:)

I make water kefir mostly along with kombucha. I drink them daily as they are a great source of probiotics plus my son loves them too.
