Tips on avoiding low carb, low caffeine hangriness

Tldr; 2 questions

  1. How many carbs do I have to eat a day while breastfeeding?
  2. Any tips to deal with the hangriness?

I'm also breastfeeding and about to embark on a paleo adventure. I've had a few false starts. To give you a benchmark, I had to wait until my husband left the country for a full month to quit smoking. Any attempt before that failed. He's not planning on leaving for any length of time in the foreseeable future so I can't bank on getting a month to rage by myself while I get over missing carbs and caffeine. Any tips on how to grin and bear it are much appreciated.

It took about a week for carb craving to ease up. But if you slowly lower carbs (I suggest one meal at a time) and remember to drink lots of salty broth plus eat potassium rich foods, you might avoid the symptoms altogether.

I can't comment on the caffeine, but I suggest eating just enough paleo-approved carbohydrates to avoid hangriness. That number will vary from person to person. I wish I could be more specific.
