Where is the best place to get instruction on doing Paleo? I purchased a book but what I read here includes things not in the book. I'm confused.

P.S. Fine print may vary depending upon your interpretation.

Phyllis, which book did you buy?

On paleohacks, you'll find people talking about many versions of paleo and even related diets. You'll find people that follow the "same" paleo diet, but just do it in different ways.

I still recommend "The Paleo Solution" by Robb Wolf or "The Primal Blueprint" by Mark Sisson as great, approachable, entry-level paleo books. "The Perfect Health Diet" by Jaminet & Jaminet is a great related-to-paleo-but-not book -- especially if you are into learning about the science behind food choices, and why paleo types eat what they eat.

You'll find lots of opinions here. With some research on your own, too, I hope we can help your confusion. Good luck!

I agree with greymouse on the book choices. Just pick one and stick with it. When you've adjusted, and you want more info or to tweak things, that's the time to come here. Don't overwhelm yourself with too much info at the start. It's daunting.

Here's a super easy 2 page "quick start" from Robb Wolf:
