Oily skin becoming worse on Paleo? Adjustment period?

Commented on August 31, 2013

I began eating Paleo a fortnight ago, one of the main reasons being the benefits to acne... But I am finding my previously very oily skin is oilier than ever! Is this likely to continue or is there usually an adjustment period where it gets worse before it gets better?

Thanks

It wasn't too flash on my cheeks, but it seemed the more avocado and coconut oil I ate, the better it got! Now my skin looks even, not nearly as wrinkly and really smooth! It took maybe 2 months to become completely acne free, and before I started Paleo it was regular and annoying, as I never had any skin problems until I turned 35, then it went crazy. Now its better than ever.

What's your omega 3 & omega 6 intake like, both total intake & ratio.
& have these metrics changed much from your pre-paleo diet.
...worth a check, could be some clues here

I used to have oily skin and acne. Since going Paleo 2 1/2 months ago, that's all changed.

My acne's cleared up and my skins not oily any longer.

Give it some more time and I bet it clears up

thumbs up

Yes it takes time for every individual. You just carry on with you diet and it will surely shows result to you too. The only thing is that you need to have patience and results will be favorable.
