I've been Paleo for almost three years now. I've noticed in the last several months that the skin on my face and the skin on my shoulders have been breaking out. I thought is was because of a hormone imbalance (obviously it would get worse during my time of the month), Plus the breakout are around my jawline and shoulders which is a definite signal it's due to hormones. I could regulate it with taking out sugar/dairy. But now I'm starting to think it's caffeine that's causing these breakouts. Anybody gain more acne during their Paleo journey? Did anything help? Removing anything help?

I was paleo for a year (no grains and low sugar)...but I didn't see much improvement in my acne until I also cut out dairy. Then, after researching the topic (I am a biologist), I discovered that numerous scientific studies implicate dairy as causing acne.
The best diet for skin issues is no grains, no sugar, no dairy, no alcohol. Lots of fresh, unprocessed meat, fruits, veggies, and water.
But you are right, perhaps caffeine is also an acne trigger. I've also greatly reduced my caffeine intake since going paleo. Good luck!
