Breakfast - smoothie 16oz banana 100g strawberries

13.5 oz orange juice

Lunch - smoothie 16oz banana 100g strawberries

8oz grapefruit juice

Dinner 2 cups baby spinach 1 cup romaine 35 grams sunflower seeds 3 egg whites and one whole whole egg (4eggs) 1 banana 1 red pepper 6oz Pineapple

This basically breaks down to little under 1800 calories 15%=fat, 75%=carbs, and 10% protein.

50grams of protein. I am 200lbs / 6 feet / 44 year old male. want to get to 180 if possible

Feedback greatly appreciated.

i am not trying to be crazy about the 80/10/10 diet, just want to mix it up a bit.

You forgot the 2 hours of cardio every day. :-) 1800 kcals being the BMR of your 180 lb self - I'm sure you'll lose the weight. I'd be interested in how you felt, however, after a couple of months of doing this... let us know. Also, if you haven't already, start a weight lifting routine to preserve some of that lean body mass.

Both. Don't make fruit you main calorie source, AND eat whole foods, chew it and swallow it.

Well, I know I would feel a lot better that way! I don't think that is too excessive on the fruit from a health standpoint, I just personally prefer veggies to fruit. My best friend eats very similarly to what you have described, pretty fruit heavy, and she is a very healthy, slim and fit woman (5'6" 125-130lbs) with plenty of energy.

Okay here is the breakdown for the rest of today. i have not eaten dinner yet but this is the plan. Breakfast = 3 eggs cooked in 1 tsp ghee. 6oz banana 100g strawberries snack = 13.5 oz orange juice Lunch = 2 egg omelette with 160g grass fed beef ground with spices and siracha paleochef sauce 6oz banana 100g strawberries 50g blueberries Dinner = 2 cups romaine / baby spinach 1 chicken breast cooked with coconut oil, and various spices. breakdown is fat 38% protein 27% carbs 35% I think this is a good ratio and mix of food. Its still heavy with fruit, but better. Thoughts?

Are you saying there is a difference between say eating the 12 ounce of banana and 100 grams of strawberries as a whole food rather then blending them, or saying back of the fruit in general? thanks

Fruit is fine, in moderation, but it looks like fruit is making up the majority of your calories.

Its not that I think its optimal. I am in search of the optimal blend for me. I bought the book, and took it back. the 80/10/10 book. It seems very strict, and honestly quite dangerous. I am on the right forum i assure you. I have been a very strict paleo acolyte. I was just fooling around with the notion / idea, but as previous have stated. Its not very filling. I am halfway done with today's Eating and have recorded on fit-day. I would like to post it once its all done, and get some feedback. I get confused by all the positive and negative info regarding fruit and stalling weight loss.

I would much rather throw out the whites than the yolks.

I would feel terrible with that day of liquid sugar! I don't think it is healthy or sustainable to consume so much sugar or most of your calories, regardless of macros, in liquid form (unless you're trying to gain weight or pack in the calories). Yikes. If you are really into this 80/10/10 thing and feel it is optimal, they probably have forums on it which would be better suited to your approach. It just isn't really something that most anyone here is going to support.

Given that you are drinking most of your calories, your "diet" doesn't seem healthy or sustainable. I recommend eating your calories, not drinking them. Also, you are not consuming any real quantities of protein or fat until dinner. If you are trying to spike your insulin levels, then what you are eating might work, but if you are trying to lose weight, it doesn't seem like a good plan. You will be constantly fighting your hormones, and they will usually win in the end.

You just ate 2/3 the calories I eat for maintenance, and I'm 33, 5'9'', and about 187lbs.

I honestly would not feel satiated drinking highly-sugary smoothies for any meal of the day, but if it works for your experiment, more power to you.

For the eggs at dinner, why did you throw out 3 perfectly good egg yolks? All the good stuff is in the yolks! Instead of 3whites+1egg, maybe just have 3 whole eggs.
