Going to a work meeting for 3 days

I am new to the Paleo diet. I've been doing it for a week. I am leaving on Monday for a meeting for work for three days. It will be in a Hotel with set snacks and meals that are buffet style. I'd like to pack some food to bring (I"m flying) and I won't have time to go to the grocery store in Orldando. Any ideas? I have the small carrot packs, tuna, almonds but anyother ideas would be great.

Well, yeah. I wouldn't personally order a GF pizza. But I would order a GF steak and salad, knowing they wouldn't put croutons on my salad or dust my steak with flour for browning. But that's just common sense.

I think sometimes the GF thing can be misleading. They compensate for the lack of wheat by stuffing so much other shit in them. i asked to look at the ingredients on the GF pizza at on of my fav cafe's and it was full of corn flour, soy flour, soy lecithin, soy some-other-crap, maize starch. IMO the normal pizza would have been better. i ended up getting chicken instead but if i was forced to choose i probs would have had the normal pizza. my friend also owns an online GF store and when i go to her house i always look for good stuff, i cant believe how bad most of the ingredients are

If you go out for a fancy meal with your boss and peers than for sure enjoy the meal. However if you are simply eating from a buffet than do the best you can...

I'd recommend to consider this meeting as a huge cheating holiday. It would make things so much easier and you could eat with all your colleagues. Just don't overdo it.

Watch out with buffet eggs. They are often thickened with flour based batter.

you should be able to find paleo food at most buffets. Just stick with the eggs, meats, and veggies. Not going to be grass fed/pastured, but still okay for a few days. Stay away from sauces as they are usually thickened using flour.

Some grocery stores in Orlando will deliver food for free...

Take your fish oil as it will be needed with the high omega 6s that are served.

Eat Meat and Vegies and Fruit. Avoid all grains, pastries and cakes, etc...

Cheat with white rice and potatoes. Eat Hard boiled eggs when offered. Eat Bacon and eggs for breakfat. Eat avocado if offered.

Avoid dessert however it is better to cheat with vanilla, choc, strawberry ice cream (avoid toppings except fruit) then items containing grains.

Eat salads with vinegar (and olive oil if you like).

drink lots of water.

Many hotels have gluten free menus. Ask them about it. Then all you have to do is watch out for sugars and dairy if you are avoiding it.

If you still do dairy bring some hard raw cheeses. They keep well. Also, I know it's not paleo or pastured but whole foods carries a liverwurst by wellshire farms. I found it was a good transition food for me before I went cleaner.

Oh also, you can request a minifridge in most major hotels. It might be a little extra fee but nothing too bad.

If you do what food there you can get it delivered even to most resorts using this service I would suggest you ask for shopping at Publix if you do this, they are the most consistent store for produce in Florida.

Consider some nice lunch meet if you have a mini fridge.

I did a 2 day business trip without eating - called it my IF. 3 days is probably pushing it. Maybe do a combo of IF and packing some snacks.

Hard boiled eggs travel well. I scramble up a big batch with bacon or other meat. Ask for a mini-fridge to be put in your room. Pay the fee if there is one. It's worth it. Grassfed beef jerky if you can find it before Monday. The key is not feeling like you have to eat something if you don't want to. "I'm not really hungry right now" is just fine to say. Nobody will think twice. Salads with lean meat and lots of olive oil go a long way.
