yea, i definitely am 4 on 3 off right now. I would hope if I do a few days off, that I limit to somewhat OK non-paleo foods instead of throwing it with complete junk. But definitely 1 a month if u can without having bad effects eat as much crap as you want. Then feel the fog the next day to remind yourself why you do Paleo in the first place!

Just be careful. The oils and additives in some of the food may really do a number on your digestive tract and it may rebel!

That's exactly what I do. If I allow something in, I go whole hog, or should I say whole bag, loaf, tub, . Whole hog would probably be better!

You either commit, right here, or you're out.

I have a strong negative reaction to the use of the word "cheat" in this context. It's treating yourself like a naughty schoolchild. If you're going to eat junk food, just do it, and don't call yourself a naughty boy.

Dude, when I was graduating from high school, I thought that switching to light beer was being healthy. I think you will be okay. Flow with the go and enjoy life. I will up vote you for being so squared away at such a young age. Good job and congratulations on your graduation.

You make it sound like a religion. I don't understand why anyone would commit to this if there were no benefits (to health of happiness).

Of course it is. Sustainability is far more important than 100% adherence, especially when you've earned it.

Stuff your face, enjoy yourself, and recommit yourself to eating healthy afterwards.

It depends on who you are. I'm one of those people who can't make exceptions. If I make an exception, it becomes a rule. I guess I just have a real slippery slope effect.

To make things worse, not making exceptions makes many positive changes next to impossible.

No. The idea of paleo is more important than any incidental gains in health or happiness.

To become a Paleo, you must adopt a strict and dogmatic approach to the principles of evolutionary eating.

Congratulations on graduating!

As for the food, eat it and enjoy it. In the long term, it won't hurt you to go off the rails once or twice a year. You don't need anybody's permission but your own. If you're willing to deal with the potential consequences, then go ahead.

It's really a personal descision. Myself, never cheat on wheat, because it messes me up, and is addictive, making me want to eat more wheat. My advice is to set firm time boundaries, for example at an upcoming wedding I'm planning to eat the amazing food at the reception (sans wheat), but not to lose the plot for the entire weekend trip. Another strategy is to stick to the most paleo foods served, and allow yourself one of your favorite things that you loved but don't eat anymore to celebrate with. So put some thought into it and have a plan, or you could just go crazy, it's up to you.

Eat and Relax, I see no issue in giving yourself a day off You should also give yourself a huge pat on the back for getting your health in check from such an early age, most people your age are stuffing their face with fast food and sweets every day :D
