Copious amounts of food in one sitting

I've been researching this question online for a years but haven't found any answers. I binge on vegetables, yes vegetables. I don't want candy, cake, pie or other sweets. I crave the crunch of cauliflower, radishes, celery and romaine. I typically eat 6 romaine hearts, 1 pound of broccoli, 4-6 cups of spinach or kale, and a few more pounds of other vegetables such as squash, carrots, onions, etc... I eat plenty of fat (coconut oil almost every meal) along with 6-8 oz protein at every meal. In tried upping my starches to see if that helped and it didn't. I am a 29 year old female and workout 4-5 times per week (mostly lifting). I take a multivitamin, fish oil, magnesium, zinc, ALA, L-carnitine, choline + B vitamins daily. I get out in the sun everyday for an hour. I've cut down on chronic cardio and that still didn't help with the need to stuff my face with crunch things. At work I chew on ice all day long but at home, the food is more what I want. I've attributed my weirdness to stress, binge eating disorder, and/or nutritional deficiencies but none of them are fitting what I do to myself every day. My parents are amazed that I can fit as much vegetables in my stomach as I do. If I don't eat vegetables, I don't feel physically full but I'm tried of stuffing my stomach so much that I literally can't move for hours after doing so. Does anyone else go through this? Do you think it is a lack of nutrients? Stress? Compulsive overeating? Learned behavior? I seriously just want to eat a meal at a restaurant without having the need to go home and eat a ton of vegetables to "finish" feeling full. No joke, I actually do that.

Thanks for fixing that. Guess that is why English wasn't my major. :-)

"Copious" = "Abundant in supply or quantity","Uncopious" (not a real word) would be the opposite. Maybe you're just overdoing the lifting and as a result are not meeting your increased caloric needs, hence the feeling of "starving".

i ate like that when i was following 80/10/10 (raw vegan diet) but that was because i needed at least 2500 calories a day to even feel remotely satisfied. i definitely took naps after my meals since i was so full afterwards. i would eat a lb of spinach, 1 head of cauliflower, and a few tomatoes. that was a normal meal for me.

now on paleo, i get so full from just a typical meat and fat meal. maybe you need to eat more protein/fat at your meals so you physically can't eat all the veggies.

hi, this definitely sounds like binge eating, something i've struggled with in the past. it's hard to explain to people. my best advice is to try and get therapy, it definitely worked for me. it's a serious disorder, but there's a lot to it beyond just eating and guilt.

i hope you don't have too much digestive trouble!

also, you mean 'copious.'

Sounds like nutrient deficiencies. Try some bone broth, liver and some hard cheese. Not all supplements absorb well.
