Are you sure that this only occurs as a result of overeating on paleo foods and not just food in general? Might this simply occur as a result of increased blood flow to the gut?
I'm trying to make healthier (more paleo) food choices but I have a strong aversion to drinking water and its making a negative impact. Here's the situation: -Water only sounds good after a good hard workout where I've sweat A LOT and am really... (more)
If I were you, I would go for a time drinking only water. Just decide that water is the only option ...be sure it's filtered, or the chemical taste will be a deferent. Chronic dehydration interferes with all of your body's processes, and can lead... (more)
Yesterday I went on a 9 mile hike and climb so my appetite for dinner was ravenous! Some co-workers took me out to eat for a celebration at one of those Brazilian steakhouses because they know how I eat. Those are the restaurants that just bring... (more)
With keeping insulin levels low and eating the right paleo foods can over eating produce negative effects? Also, I find when I only eat 2-3 times a day that I over eat because I am pretty damn hungry and feel the need to compensate? Anyone else... (more)
I read this NYT article featuring David Kessler a couple of years ago and it really resonated with me. Here's an excerpt giving the gist of things: When it comes to stimulating our brains, Dr. Kessler noted, individual ingredients aren???t... (more)
I have a problem with overeating. The last time that I needed to stop doing something related to food, I loaded up on info related to why it's bad for me and I quit eating it (Kurt Harris explained eloquently exactly why fruit should be minimized... (more)
Today I overeat with hazelnuts. I don't wanna throw up. I fear that the phytic acid weakens my system. Its was 200gm. This should be 7 to 8oz? Do you do anything when eating too much nuts, to stop the harmful effects?
I relax, go on with my life and stop worrying about such trivial things. The stress from worrying about "overeating" nuts is far far greater than the actual biological harm.
I recently saw a documentary on youtube titled "Can't Stop Eating" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdA7amVMrBc&feature=related My question is, how does this come to be, is this passed down hereditarily or is it an imbalance in the leptin... (more)
Yes, I've come across this in a bioethics context. Given that prader-willi is such an extreme genetic disorder with so many different symptoms attached to it, it's not likely that dietary adjustments would have a massive impact on it. Obviously it... (more)
I really am hesitant to ask this question--but I need some help so I'm going to reach out here since this is a pretty helpful group of people. I am really struggling with binge eating. I keep bingeing on nonpaleo foods even though I KNOW that I... (more)
I'm already out of the binge closet, I did a post on it http://huntgatherlove.com/content/binge-eating I think it's really really common. Many members of my family have had issues with it. Our society encourages it with hyper-palatable cheap... (more)

If I take a typical week, my calories would be average. But on some days I binge, and others I eat hardly at all. It seems to even out for the week, but I'm worried about the days where I don't eat much; is that really harmful to me? Is what I'm... (more)
Not at all. In fact, it's just like Paleolithic times where they would gorge on all the food they had gathered and then might not eat for a few days after that. Our body were designed to eat like you are
Before the paleo-lifestyle I had some problems with anorexia. It is not a point now, but from October, since I totally changed my way of life, it was hard for me to get over the fact that I HAVE to gain some weight. From the point when I felt that... (more)
I've been on and off a Paleo diet for a few years now. By on and off, I mean I haven't eaten grains or legumes at all in that time, but I go through phases of eating grass-fed dairy. The problem is I can't seem to stop some level of compulsive... (more)

It sounds like you may be filling up on the wrong types of food for you since you are eating to satiety, but are losing weight. What is contained in the meals you receive?
Ok so this might be a bit long. I'll try to sum it up lol. If you read this all I appreciate it. OK so it started off last year when my mom suggested for me the paleo diet because I could not lose weight and thought I was eating healthy... (more)

I wouldn't worry too much about it, think of the week. Skip a meal the next day and work out if you like. A good way to avoid over eating is to avoid under eating -- in other words, feel free to eat a little more food on the regular and you'll... (more)
