Here in Seattle, we're having "A Primal Cook-Off! With Guest Author Robb Wolf" sponsored by Whole Foods, which was instigated by one of our Paleo people, that is geared toward the general public.

Got me to thinking if there are other little events around the country going on, spreading the word of Paleo/Primal. Thought it would be great to hear about them!

FYI, here is the info for the Seattle event, sounds pretty cool:

Anyone interested in meeting, and possibly going through the event together? I live an hour away and seems like I'll be going by myself...=( I'm interested in looking into what the UCLA guesthouse is all about?

@cynarin - Thank you so much! You can email me at sherpamelissa at gmail dot com and we can talk specifics. I don't have the vacation time off for work yet, but I am truly planning on doing this.

I lived in LA for years and can help you out fo sho! There's a "FlyAway" bus that goes direct from LAX to UCLA, so transit will be a snap. Westwood and that entire area of the city are very nice and safe, and anything in that area is going to be fine. I was thinking about staying at the UCLA guest house during the conference instead of staying with friends, and would definitely be interested in sharing a room with a nice lady!

I have some questions about transportation and lodging for this, but have hesitated to post a thread about it, because I don't have a real question other than HELP! So. I'll try here. :) If I come into LAX will I need to rent a car to get to UCLA? Are there any neighborhoods I should avoid when looking for a hotel? Or are all the hotel recommendations on the "Accomodations" link going to be okay? Anyone interested in rooming or sharing a car would be cool too!

The big one would obviously be the Ancestral Health Symposium, happening in Los Angeles this August: http://ancestryfoundation.org/

I'll be there, along with many other PaleoHackers.

Your Seattle event sounds fantastic!
