Last Spring, months before I began trying a Paleo lifestyle I began noticing my mouth would become incredibly itching while eating whole apples. The symptoms would then get worse to the point where my lips would break out. At the time I was 24 years old, and had originally never had a problem eating apples before. Therefore I began to test whether maybe there was a difference between conventional and organic apples, but found I broke out around my lips and my mouth became itching while eating both types.
After this point, I experimented by only eating the interior of the apple without the skin, thinking there was some sort of residue on the skin that irritated me even after washing the apple. To my dismay, I still experienced side effects.
On the other hand, when I eat Whole Foods Unsweetened Organic Applesauce where the only ingrediant is apples, I experience no irritating symptoms whatsoever.
I took it even further and drank some Organic Apple Juice, and experienced no symptoms as well.
Has anyone had an issue like this before or experienced something similiar?
Does anyone have any idea what is going on with me?
I love apples, and have enjoyed them for 24 years of my life, and it kills me that I can't consume them anymore without significant side effects.

It's called Oral Allergy Syndrome.
The applesauce doesn't bother you because it is cooked. The apple juice has likely been pasteurized.
After a time eating lacto-Paleo, mine has gone away, probably due to reduced inflammation overall.
