I don't think it's a fat adaption thing if you've been eating paleo for a couple years. It may relate to bile production. Have you had any blood work done? You may have elevated liver enzymes or bilirubin.

"Paleo" doesn't have to mean "no carbs". Try having a sweet potato or a bit of white rice shortly before your workouts. If you're lifting, those carbs will be put to good use and not be stored as fat. I'm in a similar situation to yours. I lift 3... (more)

I just sleep on a yoga mat. I got it for $20 at Target. Then again, I live in Miami so the temperature of the floor is never an issue (in summer I sleep directly on the floor to take advantage of the cooler temp).

Why was I leaner on a SAD than the paleo diet. Mod protein mod carbs low fat compared to mod protein high'ish fats low carb? Training has not changed... Please hack my thoughts
You may be eating more calories, or low carb does not suit you - especially if you are doing a lot of training. Try paleo with more carbs and less fat and see how you feel / train etc
