will anyone admit to taking seal oil?

Omega 3 suppliments derived from harp seal are availble in Canada. the manufacturer's information claims that seal oil has more DHA than EPA and some DPA and that its more bioavailable to humans.

i have no ick response to the idea of taking seal oil, but i wonder about the validity of the claims made.

as a secondary question; does anyone take squid oil?

No :-) but omega 3s are highly unstable I don't think they're a good idea.

If you can source high quality pastured eggs, there is no need for such supplements.

that was part of my curiousity. but also i am not clear on the importance of more DHA as opposed to EPA. the one maker of squid oil i found makes the same point.

I'd be curious as to human requirements for DPA (the saving grace for seal oil) and how well/poorly we biosynthesize it ourselves.

I'm seeing a claim being made that fish are polluted with PDBs/Mercury, while seals are free of these. Logically that doesn't jive. What are the seals eating? Those same "polluted" fish I'm sure. Stinks of gimmick.

No rancid supplements in my body. :-)

Just eating pastured animal products gets enough omega 3. Just avoid nuts and too much fatty chicken/pork.

I'd love to admit to that, but I've never run across it. Anyone know of a source of baby seal steaks or bacon? :-D

Never heard of it before, so I did a quick google and found this:
