Which is more Omega3 rich--flaxseed oil or extra virgin olive oil?

I generally consume both, cold pressed, in salads, and since by taste to me flax is tastier, I wonder if it happens to be richer in Omega 3s.

Conversion rates are low because needs are low. High consumption of dha and epa are more of a hack than a dietary necessity.

Although Flax is higher in omega-3 than olive oil, neither one is particularly helpful to your body as far as making the omega-3's your body actually uses. The conversion rate of the plant-form of n-3 to the animal form in humans is less than 10%, and a lucky human will get a conversion rate of 7%. Most people only have a rate around 3%. So assume that at least 95% of the n-3 you're getting from flax is going to waste anyway. That doesn't mean it's not a good oil for you to eat, but don't depend on it for that purpose.

If you want n-3's, eat fish, or take fish oil supplements. Grass fed animals also have higher levels of n-3 than grain fed ones. But only if you eat the fat, so don't go trimming it away.

Flax is quite high in omega-3s. Particularly ALA which in the precursor to longer chain omega-3s like DHA and EPA. There are health benefits to consuming foods high in ALA just as there are benefits to consuming foods high in other omega-3s. Consuming them as supplements are less supported as beneficial. I say go for it if you like the flavor of flax seed oil.

Neither contain any DHA or EPA. Eat some fish, keep the meat pastured, and foggedaboutit.
