Does anyone know the approximate fatty acid profile of real free range organic chicken?

Just curious cause I eat a lot of this stuff. I don't eat the skin but I do eat both white and dark meat. It is free range, organic, and it says they are fed a grain and soy free diet. Does it contain any omega 3s? Does anyone know the rough fatty acid breakdown?

Not an answer, so posted as a comment. Ruminants are consistently low in PUFAs (n3 and n6) because rumen micro-organisms change unsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids. Grass vs grain feeding changes the n3/n6 ratio, but does not dramatically impact the total PUFA amount. Non-ruminant animals, however, can have wide swings in fatty acid profile depending on their diet. Here's a Masterjohn article on fat profile of pigs under different diets: http://www.westonaprice.org/blogs/cmasterjohn/2011/11/25/good-lard-bad-lard-what-do-you-get-when-you-cross-a-pig-and-a-coconut/

Sick. thank you so much. Do you have a link that talks about this? I get my chicken from The Coop which gets it from a very small family-run organic farm. Forgot the name atm though.

Question 1- Where do you get that type of chicken from-- in my area we have a hard time finding any chicken not fed a grain diet.

Answer: I would assume that this type of chicken would have healthy saturated fat and I just looked this up and free range chicken fed its natural feed (grass and bugs) has about 80% higher levels of omega-3.
