This graph suggests the typical linoleic acid and arachidonic acid intake in the USA is 9% of total calories. http://www.vrp.com/static/editorialImages/fish-oil-fig1.jpg
Extensive USDA figures can be found here. http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/publications/foodsupply/foodsupply1909-2004report.pdf
I think I consume 7 grams of omega-6 fats per day: 63 calories of 2,400 kcals; I make that 2.6%. Conversely my omega-3's are from salmon thrice weekly estimated at 2 g EPA/DHA a day. No fish oil supplements.
My omega-6 intake basically comes from 2 brazil nuts, 3 egg yolks and 40 g of extra virgin Greek olive oil, the label says 7 g pufa's per 100 ml.
