Are there any? Is palm oil bad for health? If yes, why? If not, why? Another question: what's the difference between refined/hydrogenated and unrefined/virgin palm oil? Provide valid and sound proofs please! Thank you!

Is the Asian grown RPO bad for the environment it's grown in, or is it grown in a polluted environment?

Virgin red palm oil is great for its vitamin E content. Do choose African source over Asian source, as Asian sourced palm oil is pretty bad from an environmental standpoint. It does have a unique flavor that you may or may not like.

I'll answer some of your queries, and leave google or others to the rest.
First of all, do not confuse palm oil (oil from the fruit of palms) with palm kernel oil

Palm kernel oil is very close in fatty acid profile to coconut oil (see images below).

Palm oil (red palm fruit oil) has a quite different fatty acid profile (also see images below). Red palm fruit oil is a very good source of tocopherols and tocotrienols (members of the vitamin E family).

All these oils are good imo, tho i have never seen palm kernel oil for sale in any shops where i live.

I prefer organic refined cold pressed coconut oil (internally or externally), because i do not like the smell or taste of unrefined coconut oil.
I have read anecdotes that a minority of people have a negative reaction to unrefined coconut oil (possibly an allergy?), but may be okay with refined coconut oil.

I use Red Palm Oil (RPO) regularly in my cooking. It has a distinct flavor and gives off a really cool yellow tint to the food. It is widely used in African and Afro/Caribbean/Brazilian cusine. (It is known as dend?? in Brazil.) I make "Calypso Collards" w/ bacon, RPO and scotch-bonnet pepper sauce.

High quality, ethically-sourced RPO is expensive. This is the brand I use : http://www.junglepi.com/products/red_palm.html

It is a nutritionally unique oil, what with the tocopherols and all...Here is some further info. : http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/articles.htm#palm%20oil%20information

Also, RPO is frequently given to parrots to improve feather conditions, so it may be helpful for hair, fingernails, etc. in humans as well.
