Are omega-6 seed oils absorbed through the skin?

I occasionally use apricot kernal oil topically. Am I absorbing the omega-6's, and if so, how bad is it? I love coconut oil, but it is pricey, so I use the cheaper oil for non-cooking purposes. Thanks in advance.

I love using macadamia nut oil but that's not really cheap. Might be worth a comparison. But as BBF said below I wouldn't worry about it absorbing into the skin. It is not going to harm you the way it does with ingestion.

Any idea what the omega 6 ratio is for shea, and if that is absorbable? I don't have skin issues, I just like the moisture from time to time.

Certain fatty acids are absorbed through the skin, yes.

fatty acids absorbed in this way would be unlikely to cause inflammation like consuming an o6 heavy food or oil might.

I wouldn't worry about this. I've read elsewhere that the omega-6 will not absorb to be burned as calories, which is why you want to avoid eating it in the first place. I really would not worry about it on your skin.
